These causes, which include falls, being struck by objects, electrocution and being caught-in/between, accounted for 57 percent of fatal construction accidents in 2013. OSHA estimates that 478 lives could be saved in the United States each year if these four causes were eliminated, which highlights the importance of preventing construction accidents.
