Many workers are aware of the risks that come with dangerous equipment, toxic chemicals, and scaffolding. However, each construction accident is unique and some workers may become hurt after falling down while working on the side of a hill, among many other types of mishaps involving heights. In San Bernardino, California, these job site accidents can prove fatal, which often leads to an incredible amount of suffering for the loved ones a worker leaves behind.
A 56-year-old man lost his life in a construction accident that recently occurred in California. Law enforcement officials say that grading was being performed at the scene of the accident, which firefighters responded to at around 12:20 p.m. According to officials, the property had a hillside that was 300 feet high. Moreover, the worker’s body reportedly had to be pulled up by fire department crews who were using ropes.
At this time, the identity of the construction worker whose life was claimed has not been revealed. The accident happened on North Stradella Road in Bel Air. The man was determined to have lost his life on the job site. The coroner’s office is going to investigate the fatality, according to a fire department representative.
Recovering from the consequences associated with a construction accident, whether it causes an injury or claims a life, can be very hard. Workers’ compensation is an option that may be helpful for workers who hope to restore at least some sense of normalcy. People struggling with this matter may find that speaking with an attorney is a lifeline.
