From electrocution to scaffolding falls, construction workers are hurt and killed in different ways. However, many construction site accidents in San Bernardino involve a worker being caught in-between equipment. Tragically, these types of accidents have claimed many lives in California and have also left workers with injuries that prevent them from working.
The Division of Occupational Safety and Health is looking into a fatal construction site accident that recently took place in San Juan Capistrano. Officials said that the worker, who was determined to have lost his life at the accident scene, was in his 30’s. At this time, the company he worked for has not been named.
According to law enforcement officials, the worker passed away after he was crushed in a landfill. Authorities say that man was caught between the bed of a truck and a trailer when the accident happened, at roughly 3:00 p.m. Law enforcement officials think he may have been crushed by the bed of the trailer as he was trying to lower it.
When a jobsite injury occurs, injured workers’ lives may change in numerous ways. Setting aside unbearable physical pain and an inability to continue performing their job responsibilities, people struggling with the consequences of a jobsite accident may also face significant financial repercussions. With lost wages, medical bills, funeral costs and other expenses, construction accidents often carry a heavy economic toll. However, by turning to an attorney and exploring whether or not workers’ comp benefits can help, many workers and their families have been able to finally move forward.
