When a construction accident occurs, people are often affected in many ways. On top of the construction worker suffering an injury or even losing their life, the accident may present financial consequences also. For example, a family may be unable to cover medical costs or pay their bills due to lost income. In San Bernardino, and throughout the state of California, construction workers who have been hurt in an accident should make recovery a top priority.
A construction accident that recently happened in Alabama claimed the life of a 44-year-old worker and left a 23-year-old construction worker injured. According to the county coroner, the man’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. The identity of the injured worker has not been determined, while the identity of the man who passed away has been released.
Law enforcement officials say that the two construction workers were hit by a vehicle while they were at work in an Interstate 59 construction zone. One official told the local news that the vehicle hit a freeway message sign that the workers were on their way to take down.
After a construction accident, those injured may be entitled to workers’ compensation. These benefits can help injured workers and their families tremendously and it is imperative for everyone who is going through this to carefully examine the details surrounding the accident. Sometimes, filing a lawsuit may be necessary, especially if the accident was preventable and caused by the negligent behavior of another. For some people, talking about their set of circumstances with an experienced legal professional is very helpful.
