While there are many examples of construction site accidents, it is important to keep in mind that there are other types of mishaps that happen at work. In San Bernardino, and other cities in California, people are employed in diverse lines of work and face a multitude of dangers each day. When things go wrong, they may suffer a debilitating injury or lose their life. Although it is too late to prevent an accident after the fact, victims and their families may be able to improve their outlook by addressing the situation appropriately.
A resident of California recently lost his life while working at a ski resort in Lake Tahoe. According to the facility he was employed by, the 42-year-old man had a wife and son and a memorial fund has been set up to assist with funeral costs.
Officials stated that the man, a ski patroller, passed away at roughly 8:30 a.m., when a mishap involving explosives took place. The explosives were being used to control avalanches at the resort, which has home to the Olympics in 1960. Since the start of the new year, there has been over 23 feet of snowfall at the resort.
From workers’ compensation to legal action resulting from another person’s negligence, different options may be available to help those whose lives have been utterly destroyed by workplace accidents.
